I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you wanted to take up boxing it would be to risky it incorporates a lot of intense training of the stomache and this could do you permanent damage.if you do find a club who would take you on and not push you into fighting for the club and miss out the stomache exercises you could enjoy a great sport good luck.

Doug,
I am sorry but you are wrong.
IBD as such does not prevent anyone boxing if it is not exascerbated by the training.
The answer therefore is that if the IBD does not get worse when training or boxing then you may box.
IBD is a problem of the bowel and not the stomach or the abdominal muscles. It is usually more upset by dietary changes than sporting activity.

So, chrmc89, it is worth training and seeing how you get on.
If you have no problems with the training and your club thinks you show potential and want you to box, then you can go for a medical and the IBD will not on its own stop you from being passed as fit to box.
