You are correct to a degree Bandanaman.
Individual countries can add to AIBA rules to tighten them but not to relax them.
I was only referring to the maximum age above in my reply and I know some countries wouldlike to see the upper age limit reduced for competitive boxing. Do you know any top flight AMATEUR boxers over age 30? Almost invariably the champions are there in their early/mid 20s or even younger. Should boxing be allowed over age 30 or should boxers go over to being coaches etc by that age?
With regard to the soft contact lenses, this is again an example of tighter rather than looser ruling. This has been kept as it has been shown by a French ophthalmologist (who is on AIBA Medical Commission) that wearing of soft contact lenses only improves the vision significantly when short sighted persons are below the eyesight limit for unaided vision at the initial medical. Therefore if the eyesight is too bad at the start then the contact lenses are not needed as that person should not be boxing in any case.

Great news
It would be better if each club got allocated a page or two and would save clubs making web sites and paying out big bucks for them, Some clubs just do not have the time money or know how . The public could find their nearest club and gain knowledge before going along, And local busines could be easily atracted for sponsorring there is no end to the possibilities. Josh

Having boxed in the Western Counties (Jersey Leonis ABC) from around 1973 - 1986 I wonder whether anyone knows if it is possible to get hold of my old ME3 card (if it still exists)and if so how I would go about getting it as a momento.

I'm a Manager working in the Youth Service for 17 years, within my job we must have an enhanced CRB check done every two years through the local council, I've been told that I will need to do another CRB check which is not the enhanced version to coach in a boxing club plus corner work- is this true ? can I not use my enhanced CRB form (just to save time) ???

The ABAE Medical Aspects of Boxing was published last year and is available by WRITING to the ABAE Office and asking for it. It was supposed to have been available on the website last year as well but I am told it is due publication on the Website very soon.
Nothing new has been produced since then.
The AIBA Medical Aspects handbook is due to be rewritten and should be available at the end of the year.

When is the ABAE gonna review the silly rule that prevents Amateur Coaches from holding a Professional Trainers Liscence and operating as such?
Pro and Am can work together, it's working apart that causes the difficulty in my opinion.
Come on ABAE, get it sorted pronto.

Mr Paul King are you willing to take the flak for the ABAE medical commission chairmans Terrible handling of the boxing with Diabetes saga now that Larks is about to drag us through the Discrimination courts ?
Boxing was allowed around the world for diabetics until the intervention of the ABAE medical chairman on his power trip, and i only hope that when the barristers start digging that the right man goes in to the hole when its filled in again .
